A few soft words, an original poem by PoetryGrrrl

A few soft words,
when spoken with conviction
borne of emotion,
are more convincing than shouted words.
A childlike prayer,
when spoken in faith,
has more power than words of hate.
One disappointed look
in the eyes of someone you care for
can do more to injure you
than a stranger's blows,
and a harsh word,
when cried out in anger,
can hurt more and touch deeper than
any physical sensation.
the fear of losing something or someone
you love
is more tangible than fear of pain
or retribution,
and a dream you pursue out of longing
is infinitely more important
than a reality you have no interest in.
