a poem about lost first love

Why is it that,
even after all the time and pain between us,
I can still cry for you?
How can I still love you so much,
hate you so much,
want you so badly?
time doesn't wash away
the important things in life,
no matter how many songs there are
to tell you otherwise.
And distance can't erase the memories -
I see you,
a blonde, beautiful child,
hair shining in the sun
you were so innocent then,
you've just forgotten;
I remember,
will never forget
the moment I met you,
how young we were
I still care
even if you've forgotten,
and I can still cry.
I love you,
always will.
Too bad.

(written to my first love)
