Mediocrity in Slavery, an original poem by PoetryGrrrl
men are all embodiments of contradictions in terms
we are free slaves; we say that we control our actions
but in truth we are slaves to society, to power, to money
to the whims of those in charge
we strive to be individuals while fearfully condemning
what is different from ourselves
man is brainwashed to believe
that he thinks for himself
makes his own decisions
controls his own destiny
government pigs in a power struggle
quickly devour the resources
of those who blindly follow them
without questioning authority
so grateful to give it all up
in return for scraps
what kind of end will this all come to?
