Love, an original poem by PoetryGrrrl

Love can be gentle, Love can be rough
Love can be angry, or strong enough;
Love can be painful, Love can be true
And at times, Love delights in making you blue.

Love can take a man and make him strong.
If it doesn’t break him before too long;
For love can be deadly but whisper sweet words,
With the truth dipped in honey so not to be heard.

Love can torment you while seeming to be kind,
It is always seeking, yet it seldom finds;
It reaches out and searches
But never quite catches hold
It cries out for warmth
But is always cold

Love will open up your eyes
Only to show you that you’re blind;
It promises you bliss and happiness
While it’s driving you out of your mind;
It will whisper sweetly in your ear,
Wipe away a falling tear,
Then turn and walk away without a goodbye.

Love might whisper or love might shout
It lifts up your heart and then rips it out
Love uses, abuses, cheats and lies
Makes you care, and then it flies
