Channeling by PoetryGrrrl
longing
for things that can never be
waiting
for my heart to finally see
frustration
need not lead only to pain
temptation
is merely inspiration with another name
for temptation need not be acted on,
and frustration can be channeled into other things;
waiting can become an exercise in zen,
and longing for something I can never have
is better than having no interest in life again;
at least it gives me something to feel.

The Rules, an original poem by PoetryGrrrl
Lest the greater evil win out in the end,
You and I, our ways must mend
To live like this is all a game
Where emptiness replaces pain
We live and die, what do they care?
It’s all a game, and nothing’s fair.
If you were to disappear, or to die right now
would anyone even care why, or how?
The world could come to an end today,
If you could live your live over, would you live it this way?
If you say no, you’re halfway there,
but would you really change? Would you even care?
We live our lives day to day
and all of it’s a game we play
We twist the rules as we play the game
But all the rules remain the same.

Velcro Koalas by PoetryGrrrl

Sweetness and sticky
almost like velcro on koala
but not quite?
more like basking in a sunny day
happily swimming through murky depths
and growing trees,
and pastels of
*wildflowers*
just for beauty’s sake.
and shared laughter,
and a smile.
and the sweetest bitter
of bitterest sweet
runs through heads
hearts, hands, lips
lends saddened joy
on my part.
do not leave,
please?
( my friend used to tell me that he was a velcro koala and he just wanted to to be stuck to me )

Paradise Lost, an original poem by PoetryGrrrl
21094
Have you ever felt the sun
as it beat against your back,
or the gentle summer rain
as it caressed your face?
Have you ever sat in the shade of a tree
on a warm bed of leaves
and just took in nature?
Have you wept in despair
that you would never meet a dryad,
or dance with Bacchus and his wild girls,
or drink in the sweet morning dew with faeries and fauns?
Have you ever really seen a sunset?
Have you climbed the highest mountain,
scaled the tallest wall,
or crawled thirsting through a desert?
And have you felt the sorrow of our loss?
Do you know what it’s like to wake from a dream,
weeping for what you have left behind,
even though it’s only a memory of lost bliss
that you never really knew?
And, have you felt, in your soul,
sorrow which cannot be consoled;
Has your heart ever ached,
eclipsed it’s threshold for pain?
Have you felt fire in yourself,
and have you kindled it in others?
Have you known emptiness,
the lack of these things,
and the blindness it gives birth to?
and do you, then, know me?

Dreaming by PoetryGrrrl
crash crash crash crash
in my ears of
dying
then wake
to find the dreams that i could not
in sleep, and solidarity
requiem, and rest in peace
paz.
Overflow of whirling image
inside tortured mind
happy, dreamlike life
that crashes down
salt pours into wounds
without pain, nothing can heal

Happiness by PoetryGrrrl
Happiness is a big hug
laughter shared with a friend
a conversation over a cup of coffee
a good book that makes you think
singing along to your favorite song
the honest expression of love
Happiness cannot be bought,
nor can it be stolen, but
it can be found laying around
for free in unlikely places.
