Moonlit Wanderings by PoetryGrrrl

Moonlit Wanderings by PoetryGrrrl

healing breeze brushes through hair
entranced by moonlit wanderings
through murky depths
soul-searching wordless thought
envelops consciousness
until yesterdays disappear
and recede into dim nothings
they can’t hurt me anymore
reality of NOW hypnotizes blind eyes
into forgetful peace
the ability to draw on past
but not drown in it
serenity entwines its’ essensce
into everyday meetings
with trustworthy souls
the ability to share
lessens the burdens of life
lifts the weight of the world for awhile
lends time to heal, to grow.
I can feel the sun!
I can see the sky!
I almost think that I can fly!

Early Morning Thoughts by PoetryGrrrl

Early Morning Thoughts by PoetryGrrrl

Stirring of life in branches
restful early morning thoughts
open doors to timeless beginnings.

All around the mullberry bush
we fall, we fall, we fall…

daylight peeks its’ slowly opening eyes
over strains of dark changing shades
the early morning horizon sneaking
glances sideways through branches and leaves
lingering traces of warmth and misty dew drops
like trains of thought to be swallowed whole
by the children of the earth; to sustain them

a place for everything, and everything in its place.

So where do i fit in?

Nature Preserve Ramblings by PoetryGrrrl

Nature Preserve Ramblings by PoetryGrrrl

dandelion garland

honey-kissed sweetness
sticky wonderful
loose entanglements
of friendship dear
wearing flower garlands
picked with care
and wrought in loving delight
by kindred spirits
bound together
in friendship’s warm embrace

(a friend and I spent the day at the nature preserve wandering around and making flower garlands out of dandelions.  We didn’t want to kill any of the real flowers, which are protected in nature preserves, and dandelions are pretty too!)

Inspiration by PoetryGrrrl

Inspiration’s sweetest smile
looked down on me today;
she sent a ray of shining love
so bright it chased my gloom away
a boy so sweet and wonderful
to make my spirit sing for joy
A rainbow reveals itself to me,
a full spectrum of shining personality
more brilliant than i could ever hope
to possess or imitate;
this boy is essense of morning dew
sweet raindrops and flowers
shining sun and blowing wind
wisdom of the earth, and nature’s finest hues;
fuzzy warm creature that he is
the earth revolves around him,
he is warmer than a supernova –
the birds chirp out a happy song
for none other than he,
while the world sets in his smile
and turns under his scrutiny
as in a desert, I thirst
can it be that he is mine to drink of?

Blue by PoetryGrrrl

060396
(his eyes)

Brilliantine hue of deepest blue
mixed with hint of white;
envelops sky, draws attention
with twinkling of eternal eye;
blue, for sad
aching empty hands
blue for love, and spreading warmth;
blue for water, tears that fall
but also for enchanting thrall
of looking into friendship’s eyes
and sighing lovelorn in the night.
The color of sinking into eyes
but also sad, for goodbyes,
and of dearest voice that is music to my ears,
honey-sweet essence of a soul
whose presence is so dear;
beauty in truth
that the world cannot crush down,
but only hinder for awhile
until the blue of life shines through.

Falling by PoetryGrrrl

When I think of him
I picture sun shining down
to pay homage
birds sweetly chirping
at the morning dew
and blush of dawn
lights my cheeks
at mention of his name;
when I think upon my friend
I cannot help but smile,
I cannot chill the warming thoughts
nor can I stop the changing tide
that flows in his direction.
All sweetness in his smile,
all beauty in his eyes
and yet, I fear to look
for I know I can’t disguise
the way I fall into them;
preclude to adoration
stirrings of a change in me
I have found a kindred spirit
a soul much like my own
and one that logic does not rule!

Bittersweet by PoetryGrrrl

hope against hope
pledges it is true,
confuses the soul;
i am torn in two!
but cannot make a whole
in one direction;
edgy sleep did not cure
uncertainty inside
how to lend solution to
this sweetly aching tide?
the heart stays the hand,
and the hand, the pen,
but longs to find some clarity
or definite to send;
but i cannot, alas!
this is the bittersweetest ache –
i should not give, lest i should take!
and yet, i Want, i Thirst, i Crave,
but i cannot break
dearest trust to either;
to both, I am devoted!
but being thus, untrue to both
but in this constraint, untrue to myself.

Rain by PoetryGrrrl

Rain by PoetryGrrrl

I lift my face to the rain;
it pours over me like sweetness
washing away confusion, sadness
waters down tears, eases pain
rinses away the residue
of life’s acid rain
that eats away at soul
and heart and mind
time is an illusion
what seems so pressing now
will pass through tree lined halls
with no notice taken;
Goddess tears, wept in generosity
I am left with lingering thoughts
of one that will not fade;
I love the rain!

Dreaming by PoetryGrrrl

Dreaming by PoetryGrrrl

crash crash crash crash
in my ears of
dying
then wake
to find the dreams that i could not
in sleep, and solidarity
requiem, and rest in peace
paz.

Overflow of whirling image
inside tortured mind
happy, dreamlike life
that crashes down
salt pours into wounds
without pain, nothing can heal

Two Loves by PoetryGrrrl

he kissed me, half a second, twice
and sent electricity
that lent confusion
whirlwind romantic verse
that i adore
poetry to my heart
but sadness follows close
I cannot think in stasis
I cannot dream in waking
standstill, checkmate
half and half, torn in two
alas, I love them both
so selfish on my part!
what next?
