Airport Goodbyes, an original poem by PoetryGrrrl

airplane

loneliness is cold
airport goodbyes,
teary-eyed parting words
don’t forget your dad’s birthday
and remember to feed the cats
will you miss me?
wanting to be reassured
and to reassure.
muzak in the background
while you smile
and try not to let them
see the tears in your eyes,
goodbye,
we say
and part.

My Lifeline, an original poem by PoetryGrrrl

This was something that I wrote for a class assignment when I was in the 5th grade. Even then, apparently, I was not a conformist. I wonder what my teacher thought of this. I don’t even know what grade I got. I hope it was an A. I think it was pretty good for a kid…

My Lifeline
==
My lifeline
is a soft breeze
pushing me gently
out of this world

taking me from boredom
from rules and restrictions
that tell me what to do
and what to think

It is a place where I am alone
no one can disturb me
No rules. Only freedom.
