Love Is by PoetryGrrrl
Love is just another word for pain
it means laughter, and hurt,
and crying in the rain.
It stands for hope, and leads to loss
and it falls for anything.
It causes broke hearts
but also brings you bliss
It makes it worth the suffering
and all the emptiness.
It brings you laughter, tears and joy
it brings a lot of grief
but no matter what it does to you
it always seems too brief.
Is the pleasure of love
really worth all of the sorrow it brings?

Moonlight Dance, an original poem by PoetryGrrrl
(also available in Spanish!)
Dancing in the moonlight
a shadow of me
I close my eyes
to the endless sea
I escape from my body
I set myself free
and without earthly restriction
I am free to be.
Nighttime’s shades of light & dark
flicker with the breeze
and the song of the evening calls to me sweetly
as, weeping, I fall to my knees.
While I embrace your countenance
the trees halt for a moment
in their mad, whirling dance
and the earth seems at a standstill
in its’ mighty, frozen stance.
Then, my happiness is colored black
when I am wrenched from your embrace
and the wind carries me on broken wings
pulling me from this place.
Though unwilling to leave you behind
I begin to fade away
It breaks my heart to leave you but
I know I cannot stay.
My time has now come
I must kiss your lips goodbye
while another longing, bitter tear
falls from the crumbling sky.

Inspiration by PoetryGrrrl
Inspiration’s sweetest smile
looked down on me today;
she sent a ray of shining love
so bright it chased my gloom away
a boy so sweet and wonderful
to make my spirit sing for joy
A rainbow reveals itself to me,
a full spectrum of shining personality
more brilliant than i could ever hope
to possess or imitate;
this boy is essense of morning dew
sweet raindrops and flowers
shining sun and blowing wind
wisdom of the earth, and nature’s finest hues;
fuzzy warm creature that he is
the earth revolves around him,
he is warmer than a supernova –
the birds chirp out a happy song
for none other than he,
while the world sets in his smile
and turns under his scrutiny
as in a desert, I thirst
can it be that he is mine to drink of?

Full Moon by PoetryGrrrl
072796 (full moon)
blue cast sky
solitary orb of madness
rolling through fog mists and
cloud castles
imagining deepest darkest dungeons
and escaping from them
into bright warm sunny
of castle courtyards
fair ladies strolling arm in arm
with brave young knights
blissful carefree
enchanted ramblings
ages gone and forgotten
but not by all-
some hearts still can see;
some ears still strain
to hear avonlea’s call;
some still work magick spells
and cast their warmth
upon the world –
in vain?
Not so long as there are dreamy eyes
to gaze upon the setting sun
and kindred spirits to dispel
even the darkest hour.

Doubt, an original poem by PoetryGrrrl
confusion hangs over me,
a dark cloud that pulls me in
a shroud that buries reason,
and fears trust.
wanting only to destroy,
it seeks me out and
follows me,
attacks me in dark places,
pushing qualms
into my determination,
and darkness into my light

Pressure by PoetryGrrrl
I am a full cup
one drop
will make
me overflow
I am a dam
weakened by
erosive forces
holding back a
thousand pounds
of pressure
but just barely
please send reinforcements
before it’s too late –
patch me, fill in
the cracks
